National Archives & Spaarnestad Photo join Wikipedia!

06 September 2010 On 13 September 2010 the Nationaal Archief and Spaarnestad Photo will donate more than 1,000 photos to Wikimedia Netherlands, part of Wikipedia. Wikipedia is the largest online encyclopaedia in the world and is, moreover, entirely written and maintained by users. There is a substantial demand for images to illustrate the encyclopaedia entries, but in many cases the photographic material is not available legally.

24 September 2009 The first ever Creative Commons Workshop at PICNIC ’09. This workshop will focus on sharing and remixing audiovisual content, and the resulting opportunities for content owners. Donatella Della Ratta, Arab World Media and Development Manager at Creative Commons and Paul Keller, Project Leader Creative Commons Netherlands will jointly run the workshop.

Stakeholder workshop Commercial versus Non-Commercial in Copyright

12 January 2009 The European Greenbook ‘Copyright in the Knowledge Economy’ (‘Europese Groenboek 'Auteursrecht in de Kenniseconomie') has set Dutch museums and archives in motion. In October representatives of Dutch heritage foundations gathered in an open brainstorm for a joint reaction to the European thought development concerning copyright.
