15 January 2011 On Saturday 15 January we will celebrate Wikipedia's birthday in the Amsterdam Historical Museum. The AHM will donate its digitalised collection to Wikipedia by way of a birthday present.

13 January 2011 In 2011 it will be 10 years since Wikipedia was founded. This special occasion will be celebrated with a range of activities organised by Beelden voor de Toekomst (Images for the Future) in cooperation with the Amsterdam Historical Museum and Wikimedia Netherlands.

Stories of Slochteren

03 June 2009 Stories of Slochteren brings the past to life by combining personal memories of 50 years of gas extraction with historical image material. Stories of Slochteren gives the people of Groningen a unique chance to tell their stories about 50 years of gas extraction and to record these stories for the future.

Making available and target groups

The archives of Sound and Vision, EYE, and the National Archive store an enormous amount of interesting, moving, historical, important, rare, and unknown material. Our national audiovisual heritage is contained by kilometers of storing shelves, bunkers, cellars, and safes. When a large part of these archives is digitized, these visual historical gems will be released.
